We’d like to say “thank you” for participating in one of our favorite events!

This past October marked the seventh annual Love Your Computer event. More than 2,000 students stopped by our two-day Carnival on October 4 and 5 for games, prizes, refreshments, and the latest technology tips.

If you joined us at the Carnival, you learned how to keep your computing experience at Pitt safe, how to obtain free software, and how to reduce your impact on the environment. You might have also picked up a free copy of Computrace LoJack security software for your laptop or taken advantage of a free security engraving for your mobile device.

Maybe you were even lucky enough to win one of the iPad 2s or iPod nanos we gave away during the Carnival. If not, at least you got a free LYC T-shirt and had a chance to snack on popcorn, cotton candy, and other goodies while you browsed our technology booths.

After the Carnival ended, 17 teams of four participated in our Technology Scavenger Hunt. They trekked around campus to answer technology trivia questions and had some fun while learning about the great information technology services available at Pitt. The winning teams received some great prizes, including Asus netbooks, iPod Touches, and Best Buy gift cards.

Thanks once again for making Love Your Computer such a success this year. See you in 2012!
